Assistant Directors Training Program

Under the supervision of the Unit Production Manager (UPM) and Assistant Directors (ADs), the Trainee provides managerial, administrative, communication and facilitation support to the entire cast and crew working on a production.  Essential job functions of the Trainee position includes but are not limited to: PAPERWORK, COMMUNICATION, ORGANIZATION, PLANNING AHEAD & PROBLEM SOLVING, SET OPERATIONS, FACILITATION, WORKING CONDITIONS HOURS

Over the course of the program, each participant will have the resources and funding to direct their own original short film. The entire production process will be structured to mimic the feature production process, so that participants have the opportunity to craft their stories utilizing every aspect of studio filmmaking, from pitch to post.

AAPD is recruiting students for their 2018 Summer Internship Program!

Each summer, AAPD places college students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates with all types of disabilities in summer internships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, non-profits, and for-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area. Each intern is matched with a mentor who will assist them with their career goals. AAPD provides the interns with a living stipend, transportation to and from Washington, DC, and fully-accessible housing.
